The 300 beds Al Suwaiq general hospital has been designed as a high quality environment for the delivery of healthcare according to international standards, while also taking into account Omani culture and customs. 
A patient centered approach that includes attention to the psychological aspects of the healing process has been applied to the design of this building. This can be seen in various aspects of the design, from the design of generous and clearly defined public and common areas and orientation  strategies, to the attention of correct functional adjacencies and attention to natural illumination and integration with exterior spaces. 
The layout of the Hospital satisfies the clinical and functional requirements and relationships of each unit with the others as expressed in the tender documents and reflected in the approved Schedule of Components.
